West of the Wood -a tribute to Dame Vivienne Westwood by Mandy Rogers

It all begins with an idea. Mandy Roger’s latest collection is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Dame Vivienne Westwood and her iconic runway collections of the 80s and 90s.

It all begins with an idea. Mandy Rogers latest hair collection is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Dame Vivienne Westwood and her iconic runway collections of the 80s and 90s. As a hairstylist, photographer and artist, Mandy has always been inspired by the bold and daring fashion statements made by Westwood during this period. Her designs were a perfect blend of punk rebellion and high fashion. Mandy captured this same sense of timeless appeal with the use of advanced, colouring, cutting and styling techniques. It was important to Mandy to use a line that aligned with Westwood’s activism, so she chose Davines colour and styling products; A family owned company that is passionate about sustainable practices, animal rights and the environment. Bold accessories and mixed prints of tartan, leopard print, jacquard and lace were chosen to reflect her most iconic signature pieces. The makeup (by the incredibly talented Erin Bradley) was inspired by looks worn by Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell as they graced the runways of Paris Fashion Week in the early 90s.

This was Mandy”s first time photographing her own work. Using a canon 5Dmarkii and the canon 70-200mm2.8 lens for the capture.

The hope is to inspire others to embrace their own sense of creativity and individuality with this collection and to pay tribute to a true icon and pioneer.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
